The survey was conducted using advanced submersible drone technology, allowing our team to navigate the flooded tunnel and capture high-resolution visual data. The operation revealed that the tunnel was fully submerged for approximately 21 metres, a discovery that has prompted immediate action to address the situation.

In addition to mapping the extent of the flooding, the drone identified moderate corrosion on the old walk platforms within the tunnel. While the tunnel’s structural integrity remains largely intact, the corrosion poses a potential risk if not promptly addressed. The detailed imagery captured during the survey is now being used to plan necessary repairs and ensure the long-term safety of the tunnel.
